The Bylaws of Texas Excavation Safety System, Inc. (Texas811) state “the control of the business and affairs of the Corporation shall be in the Board of Directors unless otherwise specified or prohibited by the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act.”
Texas811 is a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Texas. The Board of Directors is elected by the Texas811 membership. Our business is conducted in accordance with Texas law, our Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, Board policies, and generally accepted business practices.
Larry Urban - Venables Construction ( Elected in 2004 )
Larry Urban is the safety director for Venable's Construction. He has worked in the natural gas industry since 1982. He has been actively involved in damage prevention efforts since 1992 and has served on the Texas811 Board since 2004.
Craig Green - Eastex Telephone ( Elected in 2009 )
Craig Green started with Eastex Telephone Co-op in 1980. He started work in the Installation / Repair Dept. In 1992 he went into the Mapping/Staking dept. In 2001 he became the Installation/Repair Supervisor. Craig has been involved with the telecommunications industry, and damage prevention since 1980, and has served on the Texas811 Board since 2009.
Curtis Proske - AEP ( Elected in 2010 )
Curtis Proske is Corpus Christi District Manager of Distribution Systems for AEP Texas. Mr. Proske has been with AEP Texas and its predecessor, Central Power & Light, since 1980. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a BSEE from Texas A & M University and an MBA from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Mr. Proske was first elected to the Texas811 Board in 2010.
Pete Pedersen - Atmos Energy ( Elected in 2011 )
Pete Pedersen is Manager Compliance for Atmos Energy Mid-Tex Division and develops and maintains operating standards to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance. He works with the Railroad Commission of Texas and administers Atmos Energy’s Damage Prevention and Operator Qualification programs. He was elected to the Texas811 Board in 2011.
Joel P. Godson - Time Warner Cable ( Elected in 2013 )
Joel P. Godson works as the Director of Technical Operations for Time Warner Cable. He is an executive in the telecommunications industry with extensive experience in all aspects in the development and operation of advanced broadband networks. Mr. Godson has worked in the telephone industry for over 25 years.
Wade Browning - Verizon Business ( Elected in 2013 )
Wade Browning is the manager of Network Operations Long Distance and Local Networks both Inside and Outside Plant along with customer facing dispatch to include Data Center manager. Managed teams responsible for Service Delivery, Service Assurance, FOTS installation and maintenance, customer premise equipment installations and maintenance, and fiber facilities within the DFW Metroplex at Verizon. Mr. Browning has been in the telecommunications industry since 1996. Mr. Browning is a veteran of the United States Army.

Roxanne has been a manager with AT&T for 35 years in San Antonio, TX. She has matched years of responsibilities in every aspect of administering Texas’s One Call Law, from taking AT&T's own internal locate requests, dispatching AT&T employee locators and now to Contracting out AT&T's Locates.
Clay Pope - Kinder Morgan ( Elected in 2014 )
Clay Pope has worked in the oil and gas industry since early 2008. He started his damage prevention career at National Oilwell-Varco in Weatherford, OK., then moved to Kinder Morgan in Houston in January of 2009 where he is still employeed as a Coodinator. Clay is a member of the Geographic Information Technology Association and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration is 2004 and Masters of Business Administration in 2007.

Tony Garcia is employed by Texas Gas Service, the third largest natural gas distribution company in Texas. Mr. Garcia manages statewide responsibilities for line locating and line locating contractors. He has been with Texas Gas Service since 1998.
Jeff Bertison - City of Cedar Park ( Elected in 2015 )
Jeff Bertison works for the City of Cedar Park as an Engineering Technician in their Public Works Division. Jeff is a career water/wastewater developer, builder and operator. His background also includes heavy equipment and construction surveying.
Ryan Martin - Williams ( Elected in 2016 )
Ryan Martin is a Public Safety Specialist with Williams out of the Oklahoma City office. He has been active in the Damage Prevention/Public Awareness industry since 2001. He began his career as a Damage Prevention Specialist with Texas811, moving on to become Regulatory Services Manager. Ryan has an extensive background developing public awareness programs and cultivating strategic partnerships.
Anthony Gordon - Oncor ( Elected in 2016 )
Anthony Gordon is Manager of Distribution Services for Oncor Electric Delivery. Mr. Gordon has been with Oncor, since 2006 serving in multiple engineering and leadership roles. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a BSEE from the University of Houston and a MBA from Dallas Baptist University. Mr. Gordon was first elected to the Texas811 Board in 2016.
